To participate in a concealed carry (CCW) class, students should bring the following gear. If you have any questions or need to borrow a pistol, please contact us in advance.
Firearm & Ammunition
Handgun – A reliable, defensive-caliber semi-automatic pistol or revolver. (If you do not have a firearm, we can provide one upon request.)
Sighting System – Your pistol must have a sighting system, either iron sights or a red dot optic.
Ammunition – Bring 100–150 rounds of factory-manufactured ammunition. No reloads or handloads.
Safety Equipment
Eye Protection – ANSI-rated shooting glasses (clear or tinted).
Hearing Protection – Electronic or passive ear protection (electronic preferred for better communication).
Holsters are not required for this class
To participate in a defensive handgun course, students must bring the following gear to ensure safety, efficiency, and proper training. If you have questions or need some recommendations, contact us:
Firearm & Ammunition
Handgun – A reliable, defensive-caliber semi-automatic pistol or revolver (.380 ACP minimum recommended). Most of our courses are geared towards semi-auto pistol
Sighting System – Your pistol must have a sighting system, either iron sights or a red dot optic.
Ammunition – Individual courses will list round count (usually 300-500 for a day). It must be factory-manufactured ammo - no reloads or handloads).
Holster & Carry Gear
Quality Holster – Must be stiff and allow single-hand reholstering. No SERPA-style holsters, nylon holsters, or any holster that collapses when the pistol is removed. Strong-side, outside-the-waistband (OWB) or inside-the-waistband (IWB) designs made of Kydex or reinforced leather are required.
Sturdy Gun Belt – A rigid, purpose-built belt designed to support a holster and magazine pouches.
Magazine Pouches – At least one or two spare magazine carriers or speedloader pouches (for revolver users when applicable).
Spare Magazines – If you positol magazines hold 10 or more rounds, you need a minimum of three functional magazines (or speedloaders/moon clips for revolvers). If less than 10, you will need 4-5.
EYE & EAR Protection
To participate in a defensive carbine course, students must bring the following gear to ensure safety, efficiency, and proper training. If you have questions or need recommendations, contact us.
Firearm & Ammunition
Carbine – A reliable, defensive-caliber semi-automatic rifle (AR-15 or similar) chambered in .223/5.56, 7.62x39, .300 BLK, or another appropriate caliber.
Sighting System – Your carbine must have a sighting system, either iron sights or an optic (red dot or LPVO).
Ammunition – Round count will be specified in the course details (typically 300-500 rounds per day). Factory-manufactured ammunition only—no reloads or handloads.
Sling & Carry Gear
Quality Sling – A two-point adjustable sling is required for weapon retention and efficient transitions. Single-point slings are acceptable but less ideal for movement-based drills.
Magazine Pouches – At least one or two spare magazine carriers for quick reload access.
Spare Magazines – If your magazines hold 10 or more rounds, bring a minimum of three functional magazines. If they hold less than 10 rounds, bring at least four to five magazines.
Handgun & Supporting Gear (Class Specific)
Handgun – A reliable defensive pistol with at least two spare magazines for transition drills.
Holster – Must be stiff and allow single-hand reholstering. No SERPA-style holsters, nylon holsters, or any holster that collapses when the pistol is removed. Kydex or reinforced leather only. (OWB Duty style holster like Safariland, etc are recommended for this type of training).
EYE & EAR Protection
Individual classes may have unique equipment requirements that are specific to that course. The instructor will contact you with any relevant information about equipment needs in a reasonable time period prior to the day of class.
